Chicken BBQ Sauce - no tomato products

Ever since I can remember, my mother has used this Chicken BBQ Sauce, courtesy Animal Husbandry Dept., Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (later Kansas State University). My family loves it, too.

Combine in saucepan over low heat. Simmer for 1 hour. Store in refrigerator. 1/4 lb butter (I use 1/2 that or even olive oil) 1 c water 1/2 c white vinegar 3/4 tsp dry mustard 1 Tbsp each sugar, salt (I use 1/2 the salt) 1/2 tsp each chili powder, black pepper, paprika 1/2 Tbsp each tobasco sauce, worcestershire sauce 1/2 clove garlic, minced 1 small onion, minced

And that’s it! The easiest, best-tasting, never-burning chicken BBQ sauce! :)
