Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
2 Tbsp maple syrup (or light corn syrup)
1 loaf French bread (a couple of days old is better, or dry out a bit in warm oven)
5 eggs
1 ½ cups milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Melt in saucepan the brown sugar, butter and syrup.
Pour into a 9 x 13 pan.
Slice (or cut in cubes) French bread, about 1” thick.
Arrange over syrup mixture.
Mix eggs, vanilla and milk. Pour over bread, sprinkle with cinnamon, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350º for 30-40 minutes
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or colored sprinkles.
